USATSI_21442478

The Tennessee Titans will try to halt a two-game losing streak when they host the Atlanta Falcons during Week 8 action in the NFL on Sunday afternoon. Tennessee is 2-4 overall following back-to-back setbacks at the hands of the Indianapolis Colts and Baltimore Ravens. Atlanta is back over .500 thanks to its Week 7 victory over the division-rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Can Tennessee pick up a much-needed win and stay within striking distance in the AFC South, or will Atlanta cement its status atop the NFC South? Our experts have broken down the Falcons vs. Titans odds at BetMGM Sportsbook and are ready to deliver their Falcons vs. Titans prediction.

Atlanta Falcons vs. Tennessee Titans Prediction for NFL Week 8

Atlanta has to go on the road for this one, but it just proved in Week 7 that it can take care of business away from home. In a crucial contest for first place in the NFC South, the Falcons beat the Buccaneers 16-13. Atlanta has an array of hot commodities at running back, with rookie Bijan Robinson joined by second-year RB Tyler Allgeier and veteran Cordarrelle Paterson. Atlanta beat Tampa Bay even though an ailing Robinson barely played (he got only one carry). Robinson should be back in action this weekend to help revitalize an inconsistent Falcons offense.

Even if the visitors don’t put up a ton of points, they should still feel good about their chances. Atlanta’s defense has been awesome so far in 2023 and will likely dominate a struggling Titans offense. Adding insult to injury for Tennessee, starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill is sidelined by an ankle issue. Will Levis will get the start on Sunday, and Malik Willis, who struggled when he came in for Tannehill during a Week 6 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, is also expected to get some time under center.

The Titans are averaging just 17 points per game and have already given up 23 sacks. They are a run-first team, but the Falcons boast the 10th-best run defense in the league. All things considered, our best Falcons vs. Titans prediction is Atlanta -2.5 (-110 at BetMGM).

Falcons vs. Titans Player Prop Picks & Best Bets Highlighting Desmond Ridder and Tyjae Spears

If you want additional Falcons vs. Titans best bets, you have come to the right place. To go along with our experts backing Atlanta against the spread, they also like a couple of Falcons vs. Titans player prop bets.

Atlanta quarterback Desmond Ridder has been a turnover machine this season, but he is also passing for his fair share of yards. Ridder has thrown 329, 307 and 250 yards in the past three contests. He now faces a Tennessee defense allowing 237.0 passing yards per game and 8.0 yards per attempt. As such, consider backing Desmond Ridder Over 217.5 Passing Yards (-110 at BetMGM).

Another one of the Falcons vs. Titans player prop bets to make is Tyjae Spears Under 29.5 Rushing Yards (-110 at BetMGM). As Derrick Henry’s backup, Spears is averaging barely more than 5.0 attempts per game and has not yet gotten more than seven in any contest. Atlanta is giving up a mere 3.7 yards per rush, so Spears is unlikely to rack up many yards on Sunday.

Latest Falcons vs. Titans Odds, Spread & Betting Lines for 10/29 via BetMGM

Before you can make the best possible Falcons vs. Titans prediction, it is important to know the Falcons vs. Titans odds.

Atlanta is a -2.5 favorite on Sunday, making Tennessee a +2.5 underdog. Both teams are priced at -110. That means an $11 bet on the Falcons is successful and returns $10 of profit if they win by at least three points; an $11 wager on the Titans gets you $10 of profit if they either win outright or lose by no more than two points.

On the money line, Atlanta is the -150 favorite, and Tennessee is the +125 underdog. A $15 wager on the Falcons returns $10 in winnings if they get the job done; a $10 bet on the Titans nets $12.50 in profit if they pull off the outright upset.

The game total, or over/under, is 35.5, and both sides come with -110 odds. That means an $11 wager on the over is successful and nets $10 of profit if the two teams combine for at least 36 points. An $11 bet on the under returns $10 in winnings if no more than 35 points are scored.

Titans Trade Kevin Byard, Get Terrell Edmunds

The Titans recently made a trade, which we have factored into our Falcons vs. Titans best bets.

On Monday, they sent safety Kevin Byard to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for safety Terrell Edmunds, plus fifth-round and sixth-round picks in the 2024 NFL Draft. Byard is a two-time First-Team All-Pro selection, and he led the NFL in interceptions during the 2017 season (eight).

Tennessee selected him in the third round of the 2016 draft out of Middle Tennessee State. Edmunds, a first-round pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2018, started two games for the Eagles this season and has five interceptions in his six-year NFL career.
